Hello babes! Today is an exciting day because I'm officially launching my new blog!!!! WOOOOO!! So as an introductory post, I'm going to tell you a little about myself. Some of my likes, my dislikes, and what makes me, me!
I am a city girl. 100%. Whenever I am home from college for breaks, you can most likely find me in either New York City or Philadelphia. The city life, the buildings and their architecture, and the people are just some of the few reasons why I love cities so much. I love to write. Whether it be poetry, about an event, a person, or just about my day, I find writing quite relaxing and soothing. I love finding new recipes and recreating cute meals! I've been on a huge smoothie bowl kick lately (for all my Lynchburg peeps reading this, please go to Millie's asap, it is honestly one of my favorite places to go to in Lynchburg (besides The Muse because who doesn't love coffee?!?!). They make amaaaazing smoothie bowls and the cafe itself is super cute too. Speaking of coffee, coffee shops are super important to me. My roommate always says how she can see myself starting up my own coffee shop in the future (which would be pretty cool not gonna lie). Whenever I am in the city, I always try to visit a new coffee shop, and then compare it to my favorites. Coffee shops are wonderful and useful for so many reasons. Need to do homework? Go to a coffee shop. Want to meet up with a friend? Go to a coffee shop. Going on a date? Go to a coffee shop. Simple as that. I love photography. Whether it be taking pictures of people or things, I feel like I am able to express myself through photographs. I love showing different aspects of my life through pictures on my Instagram. Photo editing is something I enjoy a lot as well. Another thing that I find calming is painting. I can show off my (((little))) artistic side through it, whether it be of something completely random or of an idea I've had in mind for a while. Getting crafty is something I've always enjoyed my whole life. Traveling is another big passion of mine. Something that I have on my bucket list is to visit all 50 states, and of course travel outside of the US to as many countries as possible. In my dorm room, you can find numerous maps, ranging from your typical world map and United States map, to a NYC subway map, to a map of Paris. Visiting new places gives me a thrill of joy and excitement. While I've been in college, even though it's only my second semester, I feel as though I've already been able to travel to a lot of new places, which is such a blessing. (AND I've been able to cross some states off of my bucket list!) I do not think a ton of people know this about me, but I also have a love for astronomy. I find outer space SO fascinating. (And yes, Space Mountain is my favorite ride in Magic Kingdom, of course!) Stargazing is just so amazing to me, and it makes me feel so small. Because there are so many more galaxies and planets and stars out there and compared to them I am just a little speck of dust. Do you ever sit and think about how there is more out there than just earth??? And how little our small, silly problems actually are in the grand scheme of things?? I think it's just crazy to ponder about it for a while. Lastly, I'm slightly obsessed with my Polaroid camera. Instant photo = instant memory. Another thing you can find in my dorm room is numerous polaroids hanging on my wall. If we've ever taken one together, you're more than likely up there. That comes to a conclusion of things that define me! Hope you all enjoyed my first post, and be on the lookout for more posts to come soooooon! xoxo, Gabrielle P.S.
